What happens when you have the two biggest stars in the world come together for a movie?

A super hit and that goes without saying. When SRK thought about making Ra.One, he wanted everything to be extravagant! From the star cast to the budget - everything had to be king size for the King Khan. He wanted the very best for this project and what the Khan wants; the Khan gets. After spending a 100 crore on the superhero movie, SRK was set to set the screens on fire. SRK was so particular about the movie that even the singer was decided by the King himself.  SRK's son inspired him to get Akon to sing forRa.One.  We hear that the Junior Khan is a huge Akon fan and that’s where SRK got the idea from.  SRK knew that Akon is a singing sensation and to talk to him he attended a party in New York where Akon was also partying. When SRK met Akon, he casually asked him whether he will sing for his upcoming flick and Akon obliged. “When I met him in New York for the first time I was floored by his niceness. Such a big international star and so down-to- earth. Such a humble man. I asked him if he's sing for me and he said, anytime,” says SRK. SRK also wanted to get Lady Gaga to perform in his flick but that plan never worked out. We wonder if she got insecure that Akon would grab all the attention. After recording a couple of tracks for the movie and giving super hit tracks, Akon headed back home leaving SRK a very rich man. Looks like SRK's Karo Dil Ki mantra always works for him. In case you missed the SRK-Akon magic on the big screen get ready to catch the action on 21st January on Star Gold at 9 pm.

The magazine is WMB3D: World's Most Beautiful which features Sherawat, who is shot by lens-man Nick Saglimbeni, using a Salgimbeni 3D camera. Apparently, the whole shoot was done in the middle of the desert, with a very rustic, hot and dusty setting, with Mallika cast in the role of a mechanic, saddled with a car that has packed up.

Suggestions for names have been pouring in for Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's daughter

. Recently, a Twitter fan suggested the name Abhinandika for Aishwarya and Abhishek's Beti B. Though Abhishek thanked the fan for the name, it is not sure if Aish and Abhishek will choose the name for Beti B. 

Since the time Abhishek Bachchan requested his fans to suggest an appropriate name, starting with alphabet A for his new born daughter, fans across the globe have been suggesting thousands of suitable names to the proud parents - Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan.

Most recently, a Twitter user named @ShvetaSharma5 suggested the name Abhinandika to Abhishek. She said, “ Another Name suggestion fr ur Daughter is ABHINANDIKA (sic)....:) :) :)” The proud father in return replied “thanks.” 

Aishwarya and Abhishek most definitely appreciate their fans for going out of their way to suggest names for their baby girl. However, will they name their daughter Abhinandika, or some other name that a fan has suggested? It remains to be seen...

Bollywood couple Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao have been blessed with a son, who was born through IVF to a surrogate mother at a private clinic in Mumbai Dec 1.

Aamir and Kiran confirmed the news, saying: "It gives us the greatest joy to share with you the good news of the birth of our baby boy. This baby is especially dear to us because he was born to us after a long wait and some difficulty." 

This is Kiran Rao's first baby, while Aamir has a son, Junaid, and a daughter, Ira, from his first wife Reena. Aamir ended his 15- year-old marriage to Reena in 2002.

During the filming of Ashutosh Gowariker's "Lagaan", Aamir met assistant director Kiran, and they fell in love and tied the knot in 2005.

In 2009, Kiran got pregnant, but she had a miscarriage. But now the couple is happy. 

Kiran and Aamir said that due to medical complications, "we were advised to have a baby through IVF - surrogacy, and we feel very grateful to the Almighty that all has gone well. 

We are humbled by the greatness of god, the miracles of science, and the kindness and love of our families and friends in being there for us while respecting our privacy."

What started off as an informal jam session for a movie song turned out to be a viral rage and cult favorite of kinds.

This song came to the fore and soon took over almost everyone’s music players, and the person who managed to pull this off is Rajnikanth`s daughter, Aishwarya and and son-in-law Dhanush. But it’s not so much about the song as it is about the video.

Well, for starters, it’s the way the song begins and the fact that Dhanush calls it a “flop song” in the very third line. This leads one to expect that either the singer will make a mockery of himself, or it will be one of those really bad songs that you keep watching because of its sheer stupidity. But in the case of Kolaveri Di you are pleasantly surprised.

This song will especially resonate with those who have been recently dumped, as Kolaveri di literally translates to ‘murderous rage’. A lot of similar terms have been introduced to the non-Tamil speaking“soup” – a colloquial Tamil word used for men who go through failure in love. It is these words along with the English in the Tam accent that have worked well for the song. They make it funny, and make you sit up and listen. Absurd and humorous lyrics such as:

“White skin-u-girl-u-girl-u, Girl-u-heart-u-black-u”

have been appreciated by many, who just want to laugh and enjoy a song regardless of what is means.

As composer Anirudh Ravichander says:

“Aishwarya gave me the situation of a love failure. In five minutes, I had a composition. Then, Dhanush enters, listens to the track and just starts singing. His first line was ‘Why this Kolaveri di?’, which translates into ‘Why do you have such a rage towards me, girl?’ We loved the line and the Tamil-English phrase, and decided to just go ahead with that. There were no lyrics, it was all done impromptu by Dhanush in 25 minutes.”

While Aishwarya has said there will be a female version to the song, I doubt it will do half as well. Why this Kolvaeri Di ?? Whats next ?? Check out next big rage ... 

Tom Cruise visited India recently in the wake of many Hollywood celebrities visting India. Tom said that he always wanted to India and hes very happy to be here. He said that he doesn`t believe that he`s in India. News has it that Tom was greeted at the airport by hired "dummy" fans for Rs 150 who waved and cheered as Tom entered the terminal. Some of them had no idea who Tom is and what rapport he shares with Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol co-star Anil Kapoor. 

India has been host to many celebrities visiting India like Lady Gaga, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie with their kids, Sylvester Stallone, Paris Hilton, Pitbull and many more. I think this sudden spotlight from West on India is due to the fact that when US, Uk and entire Europe`s economies were down in dumps then Indian economy was getting stronger. When corporate giants were cutting down costs by giving pink slips, India was hosting 20-20 World Cups and winning tournaments and hosting Commonwealth Games.

After blitzkrieg promotions for a month, The Dirty Picture opened yesterday with approximately 1,500 prints, including the Hindi original and dubbed versions.

Trade pundits point out that although the advance bookings hadn’t been too promising earlier in the week, the film has registered almost 100 % collections across single screens and multiplexes in different centres.  

 “It will rush through the weekend,” asserts Komal Nahta, editor of Koimoi.com, adding, “The advance bookings weren’t so huge, but since morning, the number of people turning up to watch the film has been on an upswing. This film should make at least Rs 70-75 crore across India, not counting the income from other sources.”

The film has been given an A certificate by the Censor Board, owing to a number of sex scenes and bold dialogue. But tradesmith Amod Mehra believes it won’t affect the film’s box office run. 

“It has everything to appeal to every socio-economic class and centre. Critics, single screen junta and the multiplex audience will lap it up. Those 10 % conservative members of the audience won’t matter in this case,” he says, pointing out that No One Killed Jessica (2010) and Ishqiya (2010), both with a bold female protagonist played by Dirty Picture’s Vidya Balan, were loved by audiences. 

“The sex scenes and dialogue are bold, not obscene. They are essential to the subject. It reminds me of Chetna (1970) which had enthralled audiences despite its bold content."



Made at a cost of Rs 17-18 crore, the film’s TV, music and distribution rights have already fetched producers Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and Alt Entertainment twice the money, according to trade insiders. “It’s a lottery ticket for the distributors,” says Sanjay Ghai, a Delhi-based distributor from Mukta Arts. “They can celebrate Diwali in December again. Everyone involved is going to make huge bucks.” 

At the time of going to press, old school ’plexes like Gaiety and Galaxy in Bandra had sold all tickets for their shows up to Sunday evening. Multiplex chains had recorded 100 per cent ticket sales until late noon shows on Friday. 

“Its opening is similar to that of a movie that toplines a male superstar,” says Sunil Punjabi of Cinemax. Manoj Desai of Maratha Mandir and G7 theatres, seconds him: “I can go on a holiday till Monday afternoon, peacefully. We’re not making losses here.”

Pakistani actor Veena Malik’s alleged nude photo shoot on the cover of the December issue of the glossy FHM, has stirred up a controversy. The cover, which shows a naked Malik sporting a prominent ‘ISI’ tattoo on her arm became the most trending topic on Twitter yesterday. The 27-year-old actor is now facing harsh criticism back home. 

Khuwaja Sara, a Pakistan-based group, protested against the actor and also filed a case against her at the Lahore court. “A disgusting & shameful act by Veena Malik, she should be banned in pakistan for life time,” tweeted Fatima Shuja from Rawalpindi, Pakistan. 

When contacted, however, Malik denied going commando for the cover. “It came to me as a big shock and I am really upset. The photo is  morphed! I never shot the picture like this, I got it clicked with some clothes on. My lawyer is looking into the matter and we plan to take legal action against the magazine for ruining my image,” she said. 

Malik added that the  photo will severely hamper her reputation ahead of her reality TV show Veena Ka Vivah where she will hunt for a groom on television. 

Despite Malik’s threat of legal action, the magazine maintains that the shoot has not been doctored. 

“We have video footage of the shoot as well as emails from Veena about how she’s looking forward to the cover,” says Kabeer Sharma, editor FHM. 

On Saturday, the magazine released yet another topless picture of the actor.

Her colleagues in the TV industry also expressed shocked at the risque shoot. “Completely mad woman. Le ab bolo tameez ki bat karti hai yeh aurat… lanat hai,” wrote Bigg Boss ex-inmate, Dolly Bindra, on Facebook.

Well, the title is bold and so is the movie plot which is based on South Siren "Silk Smitha" fondly called Silk. Milan denies that the movie is based on Silk Smitha`s life but everybody knows what the truth is. Right ?? Lol.

Balaji Films has been producing small budget, experimental cinema, sleazy movies for a long time now. "Love Sex Dhokha" , "Ragini MMS" and now "The Dirty Picture" and all these movies have done good business. I hope that The Dirty Picture will also do good business because of raunchy scenes, script and hip-gyrating music ;-)

Bappi Lahiri has done great job directing the film`s music.
